My third and final week of my Three Speed October 2021 Challenge

Society Of Three Speeds

Hello, friends of Three Speeds! I was hoping to write more of a “Three Speed October 2021 Week Four Round-Up” post. But scanning “the channels” of Instagram, flickr, and tumblr (remember that we do not participate on The Book of Face) there was nothingposted for last week. Nothing except my posts. So that’s what I’ll be sharing.

This week I completed my third week of the challenge, plus got in my makeup ride for the one I missed during Week Two. Plus two of my rides are part of Mary’s Coffeeneuring 2021 Challenge! And my final ride can be considered a prelude to the Midnite Bicycle League Challenge, which is coming next.

So I am finished! Huzzah! And if you have finished, send in your Official Reporting Journal!

And if you share your Three Speed October rides on either flickr, Instagram, or tumblr, make sure you tag them #3spdoct21

Three Speed October 2021: The final week

Society Of Three Speeds

Hello friends of three speeds! For those of you who have registered for the Three Speed October 2021 Challenge, this is the final week you can participate!

It’s too late to register, and if you have registered but haven’t done any rides, it’s too late for you as well. This week has to be the Week Three of your challenge, so you should have at least attempted two weeks before this. And after you complete your three challenge rides for Week 3 (the earliest to do that is Tuesday) you can use the remaining days up until Sunday October 31st to make up any rides missed in the previous weeks.

Have you completed your challenge? Now is the time to finalize your Official Reporting Journal and send it into me. It is recommended that you use either First Class or Priority Mail tracking, please do not send it Certified or…

Joining the Cult of Brompton

I've owned a lot of bikes in my adulthood--nineteen at last count. Pretty much everything I got was used. Only two bikes were major new purchases, and "game changers" in their own way: The Surly Long Haul Trucker in 2008, then the Bantam custom in 2015. Now here's another major new purchase to add to... Three Speed October 2021: Weeks 2 and 3 report

Society Of Three Speeds

Hello folks! I skipped a report on Week 2, so here’s a big ol’ combo one.

To start, I didn’t ride during the second week possible of the challenge, for two reasons: I just got back my Bantam after a month in the shop, so I really wanted to ride that. Plus, my Superbe was having cotter issues, so it was in the shop for most of that week. So the third week possible began my Week Two. And I only got in two rides this week, but one ride was pretty significant, as you’ll see below.

I’ll make up my third ride for this week AFTER I complete my Week 3. And this serves as a reminder to all of you who missed a ride or two during a week: Now begins the “Make-Up” period. You can make up rides from weeks that have passed. But the important thing…
