An example of the 3"x5" Bike Art Hello friends. The holiday season will soon be here before we know it. If you're thinking about gifting someone custom art, the time for action is now! The update: Fresh air again.

The last couple weeks here in Portland have been hard. No doubt you've heard about the wildfires that raged (and are still somewhat raging) in Oregon. Exploding over the Labor Day weekend, driven by high winds and dry air, the fires have burned up an area larger than the size of Rhode Island (for non-Americans,… Continue reading The update: Fresh air again.

Goodbye, Pentax IQZoom 170SL

From the The Dalles Ramble, Leap Day 2020. It's one of my favorite shots of the year, and it was shot on the Pentax IQZoom 170SL. (Espio 170SL) Another camera departs the flock. This time it was my Pentax IQZoom 170SL, known as the Espio 170SL outside of North America. I got this camera way… Continue reading Goodbye, Pentax IQZoom 170SL

Bike Camping in the Columbia Gorge at Ainsworth, 25-26 Aug 2020

Horsetail Falls, 25 Aug 2020. Ricoh 35 ZF, Arista EDU 200. If you've been around here long enough, you know that riding out to the Columbia Gorge is one of my favorite things to do. It's close (within 30 miles of my front door) and features lots of great scenery. But the last few years… Continue reading Bike Camping in the Columbia Gorge at Ainsworth, 25-26 Aug 2020

Coffeeneuring Challenge 2020: Starts October 10

Yass, Coffeeneuring is back!

chasing mailboxes

The Coffeeneuring Challenge is on for 2020. It runs from October 10 through November 23 this year.

The coffeeneuring framework is going to look somewhat different this year, based on our current circumstances. The challenge will continue to be compatible with many comfort levels, and it’s still going to be great.

If you have a specific rule suggestion or modification, now until September 25 is your time to present it to the Coffeeneuring Board of Directors. You can comment on this post or send me a message directly to propose it. I hear the board is very reasonable.

Don’t worry, we are still gonna have lots of rules (but not too many) that all boil down to ride bikes and drink coffee.

I hope you consider joining. You will love it!
