As we hurtle towards the end of October, now is a good time to check in on my Bikeartober 2022 progress. I intended to have a drawing for each day of the month. So far, so good. Mind you, I haven’t been drawing every day, sometimes I’ll skip a day and make it up the next day.
If I went with a specific theme for this challenge, where every day’s art idea had been determined in advance, I think it would be easier to actually draw on a daily basis. But since I’ve stuck to my journal comix format, sometimes I don’t know what to say until after the day is done. Maybe next year I’ll do the more standard thematic approach, but I do like forcing myself to document my daily life.
And I don’t always make a drawing about the day. Often it’s a random image, maybe a car or bird. Some of these drawings are from my own photography archive, while some I find on the internet. It’s a good way to keep things interesting.
