Another year, another Coffeeneuring Challenge! I’ve been participating in Mary’s cool contest since 2013, though there’s been once or twice where I didn’t finish. (And yes, Coffeeneuring was definitely an inspiration to my challenges!)

This year’s challenge started on Monday October 18th. I like kicking off the challenge with something special. Last year it was on the beach, this year it was my first time coffeeneuring with the Brompton. The nine mile cruise headed up to Mount Tabor, where I made coffee via Esbit coffee maker. (Coffee: Backporch Peloton Blend) It was a workout climbing up to Tabor, but the Brompton handled it just fine.

The second ride of the Challenge happened on Thursday October 21. It was tempting to ride the Brompton again, but I wanted to try to get in all of my rideable bikes into the challenge. So I pulled out the Schwinn Heavy Duti, a bike I hadn’t ridden in a bit. After a fly-by of Belmont Library, I hit up Straight from New York Pizza on Belmont for lunch, then moseyed a few doors over to Stumptown Coffee Roasters for a delicious salted maple latte. I rode over to Laurelhurst to drink it and do a little drawing. While there, I got an alert from my weather app that rain would start in 25 minutes so I packed up and headed home, making it there when the rain started. It was a nice 5 1/2 mile loop.
