Sunflowers, Frazer Park. 17 August 2021. Minolta Freedom Tele/Kodak Ultramax 400 It's the last day of August. For many, this means "the end of summer", though in the US we typically consider Labor Day Weekend as the season-ender. Soon the long, warm days will be a memory. Oregon Coast Bike Tour 2021: The journal comix
Alright, I finally got around to scanning the Journal Comix I drew while on the Oregon Coast Bike Tour earlier this month. I'll have an upcoming blog post with photos, and probably a "reflections" post as well. Enjoy! https://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanadventureleaguepdx/albums/72157719801330715
Three Speed Cruise Ride Report

Monday August 2nd was the date of the Society’s summer ride. This ride was also part of Pedalpalooza, Portland’s annual summertime celebration of bike fun. This was a weeknight ride, which means a shorter route than my weekend jaunts in either April or October.
I had a small crew on this ride, mostly filled with regulars: Tim, Michael, Vince, and James. We met on the east side of Tilikum Crossing at 6 and rode off at 6:30.
The route was a simple one: a circuit around the Willamette using the Tilikum and Sellwood Bridges. The west side was pleasant riding, just steering southward along the Willamette Greenway Path. We paused for a wee bit along the Sellwood, checking out the river on a warm evening.

Three Speed Ride, Saturday 10 October

It’s time for our autumn cruise on three speed bicycles! This approximately 15 mile loop will explore the deeper parts of SE from Montavilla and back. We’ll see a mix of decidedly urban/suburban and some surprise rural areas.
This ride is open to all bikes that have a internal hub gear of three, four, or five speeds. Bromptons are OK. You do not need to be a member of Society of Three Speeds to be on the ride. If you are not a member, you can purchase a membership on the day of ride for the special price of $20!
This is a casually paced ride, no one left behind . We can get food and libations afterwards. Limited to 24 participants. You can register via Eventbrite here.
