Hey there! A few of us are planning on camping out at Ainsworth State Park in the Columbia River Gorge on Tuesday March 24th. And we’re planning on booking a site or two in the walk-in area in advance. While there is a “hiker/biker” area, it’s not hammock friendly. (The walk in sites ARE hammock friendly.) And I’ve been out there before during a weekday in spring break, and all walk-in sites (and most of the drive-in sites!) were FULL. While we could always chance it, this is the first year Ainsworth is taking reservations, so we might as well do that.
Costs would be $21 per site ($13 plus reservation fee), plus $5-6 for each bundle of firewood. (We typically get three.) Costs would be divvied up by those signed up, and I would be making the reservation.
Are you interested? Please let me know.
UPDATE 16 March 2015: I’ve booked two spots in the walk in sites. We’ve got four people confirmed so we definitely still have room for a few more people (especially if you have a tent!) Per person costs would range from $5 to $10 for the camping spot, plus maybe $5 for firewood.
