Bikes Spotted: The Homebrew Front Rack

On Wednesday while I was purchasing some needful things on SE Grand, I spotted this interesting bicycle parked outside.

It’s some sort of touring bike (I think), though I couldn’t tell what kind because of all the stickers. But the most interesting thing is the front rack. Front racks are a rare bird, but this one is one-of-a-kind!

Obviously someone fabricated it to some degree. I can’t tell if they used a regular generic rear rack as the basis and went from there, or built it from scratch. Love the place to hook bags on the bottom.

And look how it mounts! It’s attached to brake bosses, fork, and fender.
