(Art) Binging in Bingen (Wash.) or, what I did for New Year’s

I was out of town for new years. I spent it in Bingen, Washington, a very small town 70 miles east of Portland in the Columbia River Gorge. While small and lacking in stuff, Bingen had three very important things going for it: an Amtrak stop (on the Empire Builder), a hostel (The Bingen Schoolhouse Inn) and solitude. I wanted to be away from distractions for a couple days so I could just concentrate on drawing. And it worked! I got a good amount of art done and learned some important things (don’t ever drink Boone’s Farm). Rather than write about it, I’ll share my experiences in comix form (click the image to see it enlarged):
